Suggested Brew Method
15g coffee/225g water
Place filter paper in the Kalita 102, it helps to fold along the lines beforehand as it will sit better in the brewer.
Place brewer on top of a mug or carafe and on top of a set of scales.
Heat your water, filtered is always best!
Once water has boiled, pour some over the filter paper in the brewer. This ensures there will be no papery taste and also preheats your mug or carafe. Discard the water.
Use 15g coffee on a medium grind setting, put into the brewer and level out the grounds. Zero the scales.
Start your timer and pour 30g water evenly and let it sit for 30 seconds
Pour in 70g to reach 100g, try to pour in a spiral motion to ensure an even brew.
Pour 50g, wait 30 seconds, then pour another 50g
Pour your final 25g water to reach 225g. Once the coffee draws down it should take you to around 3 minutes.
