Medici Roasting is an Austin original. Years ago our founders met while attending the University of Texas at Austin, at a coffee shop no less! Since then Medici has grown alongside the city. Each one of our shops captures the unique vibe of its home neighborhood, blending the city’s creative characters with the rich culture of locally roasted coffee, right here in Austin. If you’re looking for a cozy nook or a lively patio, each one of our locations has a distinctive atmosphere that celebrates the spirit of the neighborhood and community that surrounds it. West Lynn: Where It All Began
Known fondly by our neighbors as "West Lynn’s living room," our very first location is situated in the heart of Clarksville and on West Lynn, west of downtown in Old West Austin. This charming area is known for its hilly streets lined with historic homes and landmarks.
Start your day with a cup of Medici coffee, then explore the vibrant surroundings. Stroll to the Wally Workman Gallery to enjoy contemporary art or head to nearby Pease Park for a serene escape (and don’t forget to check out the beloved troll!). We fondly consider our West Lynn location to be a community hub for friends and neighbors.
Springdale General: Our Local Austin Coffee Roastery
Medici’s Springdale location houses a modern cafe and our Austin coffee roasting facility. Situated in East Austin’s new multi-use development Springdale General, our roastery rubs shoulders with creative studio spaces, local artists, and makers. We love this cafe for its rich aromatics that come from roasting the beans in the same building, and the bright and airy design of the cafe—with a spacious open floor plan, floor-to-ceiling windows, heavy wood detailing, and collaborative atmosphere.
After savoring your coffee (try requesting a flight of our single origins or local roasts!), check out our neighbors in the Springdale General community! Treat yourself to a pastry from Julie Myrtille, browse handcrafted jewelry at Loveweld, or freshen up your look at DamnGlam! or Barbashop. With its proximity to some of Austin’s best restaurants, and creative spaces, our Springdale location is the perfect work space and starting point to spend a day exploring Austin’s hidden gems in the neighborhood.
South Lamar: A Local Zilker Coffee Shop
Our South Lamar location resides in the Zilker Neighborhood. Our outdoor patio is pet-friendly, and a great place to start or end your weekend, close to Austin’s best activities for kids, couples, and fur babies.
Pair your coffee with a sweet treat from Lick Honest Ice Cream or enjoy a movie at Austin favorite, Alamo Drafthouse. With Lady Bird Lake, Zilker Park, and Barton Springs only a few minutes away, our locals love this spot as it is perfect for grabbing a coffee before getting active outdoors and reconnecting with the community at a staple Austin coffee shop.
Guadalupe: West Campus Coffee Shop & UT Gathering Spot
Right on the Drag, our West Campus location is where Medici Roasting’s story really began—our founders, Michael and Alison, who were introduced through friends started their love story here back when the space was a cute café called Metro. They were together at that shop the night Michael first asked Alison out and it served as an introduction to coffee culture for both of them. Years later, Michael and Alison took the lease over for the same space they’d started their love story in and renovated it to become one of Medici’s now favorite local coffee spots. We have a soft spot for this location, as it remains a favorite spot for UT Austin students, faculty, and staff.
Come for the coffee and the conversation, then stroll to one of Austin’s premier museums. Explore the newly refurbished Blanton Museum, brush up on Texas history at the Bullock Museum, or check out the reopened Texas Science & Natural History Museum.
Domain: Sip and Shop
Medici at the Domain is our newest location! This cafe combines a modern build with an intimate atmosphere, so you can enjoy a serene space to relax amidst the hustle and bustle of Austin’s top retail district. The Domain is the place to go for high-end shopping, from boutiques to designer brands and cool pop-ups.
Heading to an Austin FC game? The Q2 stadium is a short drive away, making Medici Roasting at the Domain a convenient spot to go to before kickoff. Verde! Listos!
Airport: One Last Taste of a Locally Roasted Austin Coffee
This location is where our customers really do make haste slowly, whether about to fly or just landing. Our frequent fliers appreciate that we don’t compromise on quality while you’re on the move. Our Austin International Airport location is at Gate 7! Once you’ve “laid eyes on your gate” you can head to Medici for a delicious cup of Austin’s locally roasted coffee.
