This coffee comes from various smallholder farmers in and around the town of Haro Wachu, delivering to the Wolichu Wachu washing station. The average producer in this area farms on half a hectare of land, and delivers coffee cherry to the washing station for processing. The Bourbon and Typica varieties are more common in Central and South America, but their names are used colloquially in Ethiopia to describe certain cultivars known to be resistant to Coffee Berry Disease – these “Bourbon” and “Typica” varieties are genetically removed from the ones found elsewhere in the world. This lot is naturally processed, and tastes like chocolate, grape, and honey.
